Drug Uses
Ortho Tri-Cyclen contains a combination of estrogen and progestin hormones, which is used for preventing unwanted pregnancy. It can also be used for regulation of the menstrual cycle, for healing symptoms of menopause, or healing of other situations as recommended by your physician.
How Taken
Ortho Tri-Cyclen comes in pills to take orally. Then take one tablet daily, the time interval between pills shouldn't be more than 24 hours. It is advised to take the tablets at the same time every day (e.g. before bed, with food intake, or first thing in the morning). If you take your pills at night, this can reduce nausea or headache that you may experience while taking birth control tablets. Avoid missing pills or starting the pack late. The more tablets are missed the higher the risk to get pregnant. You can have spotting, light bleeding or you can feel sick to your stomach during the first 13 packs of pills. You should never stop taking pills if you feel sick. This side effect ordinary goes away. If it persists for long, you should visit your physician. If you find it difficult remembering to take the drug at the right time, you should discuss with your doctor the use of another birth control method.
