Drug Uses
Cipro is used for treatment of bacterial infections. It may also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure.
How Taken
Use Cipro with a full glass of clear water as suggested by your doctor. Use Cipro with or without a meal. It is suggested to drink extra fluids while taking Cipro. If you also take any products containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc (eg, vitamins/minerals, antacids), didanosine, sucralfate, or bismuth subsalicylate, do not take them within 6 hours before or 2 hours after taking Cipro. To clear up your infection completely, take Cipro for the full course of healing. Keep taking it even if you feel better in several days.
More Information
Cipro can cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects may worsen if Cipro is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Cipro with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to this pill. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, ask your physician. This medicine should be used only by the patient for whom it has been directed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than suggested by your physician.
