Drug Uses
Furosemide is used for treatment of fluid build-up and swelling caused by congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or kidney disease. It is also used in combination with other drugs to treat fluid build-up in the lungs. Itcan also be used for other situations as suggested by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Furosemide as recommended by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Furosemide with a meal. Furosemide can increase the amount of urine or cause you to urinate more often when you first start taking it. To keep this from disturbing your sleep, try to take your dosage before 6 pm (18:00).

Furosemide may cause dizziness. These effects can worsen if Furosemide is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Furosemide with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this medicine. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, notify your doctor. Furosemide should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Do not take less or more or take it more often than advised by your doctor.
